This is the opening paragraph of a secret journal Bobby Sands began on March 1st, 1981. This was the day that he started the hunger strike which would ultimately make his name known around the world. He went without food for 65 full days; then, at 1:17 on May 5th, Bobby Sands MP, died in the HBlock prison hospital at Long Kesh.
